What each kind of work needs

What you need first
Contract jobs (postman, window cleaning, miner and the rest)
No licence check and no boss. The first ones need nothing at all. Later ones need a vehicle, gear or a partner: see the stages in chapter 5.
City jobs paid by the clock (taxi, bus, tow, trucker and the rest)
A driver’s licence for anything you drive.
Mechanic, vehicle dealer, real estate agent
A place on that business’s staff.
Your own business
An approved business application: what it is, where, opening hours, how it earns, who it employs, and your starting money or a plan to raise it.
Police, Fire & EMS, Department of Justice
An approved emergency services application and one training session before your first shift. See the Law Enforcement Guide and the Medical (EMS) Guide.
A recognised gang with turf
An approved gang application: a written concept, at least four founding members with characters already made, a leader who is the contact for staff, and a 30-day review after approval.
Crime of any kind
No application. The rules in chapter 6 apply from the first act.
